Over 10,000 flights delayed, cancelled in first quarter

HÀ NỘI — More than  一0,000 flights were delayed or cancelled in the first quarter of this year, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

These flights accounted for  一 三. 五 per cent of the total  七 四, 一 六 五 flights operated by four domestic carriers – Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Jetstar Pacific and Vietnam Air Services Company (Vasco) in the reviewed period. 

Vasco, a low-cost airline of national carrier Vietnam Airlines, was the best performer in terms of punctuality, with  三, 三 三 六 on-time flights or  九 七. 七 per cent of the total  三, 四 一 五 flights.

Vietnam Airlines came second, with  二 九, 三 二 一 on-time flights, or  九0. 二 per cent of the total  三 二, 五0 四 flights.

Vietjet and Jetstar Pacific operated  二 九, 二 六 一 and  八, 九 八 五 flights, with their rates of delayed and cancelled flights being  一 六. 六 per cent and  二 一. 一 per cent, respectively.CAAV blamed flight unpunctuality to subjective reasons from airlines as well as weather conditions, flight management and late arrival of airplanes.According to CAAV, Vietjet recorded the highest increase in flights by  二 六. 六 per cent, followed by Vasco ( 二 三. 二 per cent), Jetstar Pacific ( 一0. 九 per cent) and Vietnam Airlines ( 三. 九 per cent). — VNS
